Welcome to my blog where I hope to share my experiences as I move forward with my nursing career and provide helpful tips and information that I have learned along the way. Join me on this crazy, wonderful journey of nursing!

First, a little about myself…

In March of this year I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing! That is 4 years of hard work, study, sweat, tears, laughs, and a lot of amazing memories with fantastic people!

I looked forward to celebrating with the people who were on this journey with me… my classmates, faculty, friends and family. An important, monumental milestone of nursing school is the pinning ceremony – a nursing tradition in which nursing graduates are welcomed into the nursing profession, and presented with a nursing pin by the faculty. Due to these crazy circumstances revolving around COVID-19, my pinning ceremony was cancelled and I do not know if I will have the chance to participate in this tradition at a later date, like everything else, it’s up in the air.

In addition, the school has cancelled Spring Convocation, which means no cap and gown or stage walk for me. I have seen that other graduating classes have been doing virtual graduation ceremonies, so we will see what happens. I hope that even if it is not until later in the year that we, at some point get to walk the stage and say “we made it!” It just makes it all feel a little more real. I finished my final preceptorship and that was it, I moved right into studying for the NCLEX, without any celebration. But what better way to kill time during quarantine, then by studying?

While I am sad that I do not get to celebrate my 4 years of nursing school in a traditional way, I am looking forward to being able to help during this time and way into the future! I also want to say thank you to everyone working tirelessly to keep everyone safe and protected!

As quarantine has left me with a lot of free time, when it’s not spent studying, I thought of this idea to start a blog! I have never been a blogger in the past but I have always enjoyed writing! And what a great way to combine two things I’m passionate about, Nursing and Writing!

I will share my experiences as I transition into the world of nursing and hopefully give insight to those who are working towards the same goal of becoming a nurse!

Stay tuned!
